The educational programme of the prestigious Accademia Italiana Shiatsu-Do is the result of the consensus and collective experience of dozens of Italian instructors over more than thirty years. The “Accademia style” that has been defined gathers technical and cultural elements from different styles and has elaborated further ones. The technical baggage and sensitivity developed thanks to Accademia training allow the operator to adapt the treatment to the specific requirements of the moment and of the individuals involved. Compared to many other shiatsu schools, Accademia's teaching holds the lead in good pressure, and only subsequently delves into the various interpretative models, including the Traditional Chinese Medicine and Masunaga's maps.
